(Proverbs 16:25) There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
This last weekend we celebrated Veterans Day, and I am honored to be one. 38 years ago I joined the U.S. Navy. It was there that I learned to grow up a little and be a man. Now boot camp was no picnic, but it was what I NEEDED. There were times that I wondered if all this physical and mental training really seemed to be necessary. Again, it was what I needed.
As a child of God, the ways WE think are right are not always what we really need. That thinking leads to sometimes poor decisions that we wish we could take back. Look at our text again. It says, “the end thereof are the ways of death". Death is literally “a separation”, both physically and sometimes spiritually. So, if we keep doing what we seemeth to be right, then there might cometh a separation in our life. Poor decisions separate us from God, and from people God has placed in our life. So, what do we do? Maybe it is time to change our ways.
(Isaiah 55:8) For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.
Friend, how is your life going? Do the ways you are choosing lead to a happy life? One of peace and joy. Or does your way always seem to fall apart, leave you miserable and unhappy, and separate you from those that are important to you? Well, I can say with the deepest of confidence that there is a better way for you today! Even the disciples struggled with knowing the right way. It shows us this in, (John 14:5-6) “Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; and how can we know the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
>>Isn’t it about time we quit doing it our way, and turn to the One that knows the best way for our life? Instead of letting your way separate you from the Christ, why come to His way.
It is ALWAYS THE BEST WAY!
