For Us

Wesley Moore

”…If God be for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31b)

During this Christmas time it seems like it can be a time of joy for some, and for others a time of misery or pain. For those that struggle with this time of year, it seems like “loneliness” is the main reason that many do not enjoy Christmas.

In the Bible, the words that we are focused on today “for us” are mentioned 85 times. But in Romans chapter 8 it is mentioned six times. And it is not just talking about Jesus, but it involves all three parts of the Trinity. God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit is “for us”! Just let that sink in, God is for us and not against us. If more Christians truly grasped that, then there would be a lot more joy in their lives, their homes, and their church.

Why would a perfect God be against His very own creation, which is YOU? Now there are some that feel like God is against them, but He is not. God is Holy and perfect, and even though He is “for us”, He can not be near sin, nor accept sin.

“But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” (Isaiah 59:2)

So instead of having a lonely Christmas time, why not come to God today and accept His free Christmas gift for you, the gift of the Gospel that is in the Lord Jesus Christ?

When you do then you will understand fully “FOR US”!
