Eggs ! Eggs! Eggs!

“If a son shall ask bread of any of you that is a father, will he give him a stone? or if he ask a fish, will he for a fish give him a serpent? Or if he shall ask an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?” Luke 11:11-13

In America everyone is feeling the effects of the price of eggs. For some can not even afford them, and that is so sad. Something so simple as eggs are hard to come by.

But look at our text, and see what Christ is trying to tell us all. For instance, if one of my children we to ask for some eggs, I would not give them a scorpion! That would just be horribly cruel to my child. In fact, a loving parent would never do that. Also, I don’t know a child that would turn down a FREE GIFT food from their parents.

So the point is, if we would never do that to our children, then why do so many today turn down God’s FREE GIFT of salvation? Many think they can dodge a stone, run from a serpent, or squash a scorpion. But friend, if you reject God’s free gift of salvation to you, and you died yesterday, you would be in hell today.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is THE GIFT OF GOD: Not of works, lest any man should boast”. Ephesians 2:8-9

Friend, eggs are in shortage in our country, but God’s love for you never is. He loves you so much that He made the way to salvation possible. You just have to come Him, according to the Bible and not according to your way.
